How do I talk to LawToolBot in a Team? You can talk to the bot from any team where it has been added simply by typing ‘@LawToolBot’ followed by the relevant command. For example, from inside a team you can type ‘@LawToolBot upcoming deadlines’ to bring up your deadline report across ll your matters for the next 5 days. IMPORTANT: if you talk to @LawToolBot from inside a team every other member of the team will be able to see your conversation!
How do I talk to LawToolBot from the 1:1 Chat? If you want to talk to @LawToolBot in private just initiate a 1:1 conversation in the “chat” feature of Teams.
View in tab: How can I jump into more robust tools? Whenever you see a “view in tab” you can click on that button to jump into the LawToolBox app in the Teams tab. These “view in tab” commands are deeplinks embedded throughout the bot that allow the user to jump into the LawToolBox app in the Team tab where we have surfaced many more powerful features beyond the conversational features that are surfaced in the LawToolBot (for example: matter lists, deadline charts, calculate deadline pages, search results, and more).
Search: Once I have logged on how do I search? Every new search must start with the command “search”. The bot will help you with an auto-complete function. The word “search” must be followed by search criteria (“summary judgment” will look for any file containing BOTH “summary” and “judgment”).
Search: What SharePoint Sites are searched? The bot will search online SharePoint sites that user has access to within Microsoft ecosystem.
Search: Can I get results in emailed to me? Whenever the see the “Send email” button you can have the last set of results emailed to you. If you submit a search that is taking a long time to return your results you can click on the “Send email” button and when the search is complete you will be emailed a list of all the search results in a list format. After search results have been displayed within the bot you will also have the option of sending your email results.
Search: Are there different ways of viewing the search results in the bot?
Upcoming deadlines: What are ALL my Upcoming Deadlines? The ‘@LawToolBot upcoming deadlines’ command will retrieve deadlines for upcoming 2 days. you can also provide date range to get the deadlines with in specific date range. (e.g., upcoming deadlines between 05/04/2017 and 05/04/2018). You can also pull up a custom date range report in LawToolBot by typing the command “appointments between 5/16/2018 and 5/30/2018” for example.
Get Matters: How can I find a matter I recently worked on? The ‘@LawToolBot matters recent’ command will retrieve the last 10 matters that someone in your organization worked on and modified deadlines
Get Matters: How can I find a matter from someone else in my firm? The ‘@LawToolBot matters firm’ command will retrieve every active matter in your organization
Get Matters: How can I find just my matters? The ‘@LawToolBot matters justme’ command will retrieve every active matter that has been shared to you
Matter Info: User: How can I get useful insights on my relationship with other team members? When you click on the name of a user that the matter has been shared to you can open the Microsoft Delve summary of that user.
Matter Info (Matter > Analytics): How do I get Analytics on the Average Length of a Matter? when you submit the “analytics” command in a specific matter you can retrieve statistics on the average length of a matter in the venue or ruleset that the matter was set up under. You can see the statistics at three levels: across all of LawToolBox on an anonymized basis, across all matters in your firm, and for any matters that has been shared to you.
Matter Info (Matter > Analytics): How do I get Analytics on the Average Length of a Motion? Motion Analytics: when you click on the “analytics” button in a specific matter and retrieve statistics on the average length of a matter, there is a “Motion Analytics” button that when clicked will give you the average length of a motion (from date of filing until the date of the order) in the venue or ruleset that the matter was set up under. You can see the statistics at three levels: across all of LawToolBox on an anonymized basis, across all matters in your firm, and for any matters that has been shared to you.
Matter Info (Matter > Deadlines): How can I Access Matter Deadlines? When you retrieve a matter you can view all of the deadlines for that matter in blocks of 15 deadlines, and if you want to do more you can click the “View in tab” button to open the deadline chart in the LawToolBox Teams app in the Team tab where you can filter it by any key word you want to use, or you can click on the “Calculate Deadlines” button.
How do I log out of the bot? Just type “logout”
